Marine Propulsion
“On the water, reliability is everything”

In marine propulsion applications, where reliability and space limitations are critical, TDMED selects engines known for their ease of installation—thanks to a wide range of options and accessories—and for a clean, simple design that allows quick access to any part of the engine. For this reason, we have chosen John Deere propulsion engines, which generate high torque at low speeds, deliver power faster, and get vessels moving at higher speeds from the start. These engines are easy to maintain, run quietly, and produce low vibration.
John Deere engines are suitable for all types of applications: marine propulsion (60 to 559 kW), generator drive engines (40 to 417 kW) with versions at 1500 rpm (50 Hz) and 1800 rpm (60 Hz), and for driving auxiliary systems such as pumps, winches, cranes, etc.
Our engines hold all certifications required today: European Directive 97/68 EC for industrial applications, IMO, DNV, RINA, CCNR for marine use, and TA-LUFT for generator sets.

Heat Exchangers
Widely used across the maritime industry for propulsion and hydraulic system cooling, heat exchangers are also employed in cooling land-based engines, heating pools and spas, recovering residual heat from renewable energy systems (like biogas and CHP), and in automotive engine testing, pumps, compressors, intercoolers, and many other applications.
TDMED uses Bowman heat exchangers and oil coolers for industrial and commercial applications. These exchangers operate efficiently and reliably across the globe, in extreme climates—from the freezing Antarctic winter to the scorching Australian summer. Whether on land, sea, or even underground, Bowman exchangers have proven to be extremely durable and thermally efficient.
TDMED distributes Bowman, the world leader in heat exchangers and oil coolers. Experience gained in harsh marine environments enables Bowman to manufacture exceptionally reliable exchangers for land use as well, including hydraulic oil systems, cogeneration units, mining equipment oil coolers, and other high-performance applications.
Bowman heat exchangers and oil coolers are manufactured in the UK to ISO 9001-2008 standards. All units undergo rigorous testing and a full spare parts service is provided.
TDMED’s Application Engineering and Spare Parts Department can help you select the best unit for your needs.
